Item received as listed, and package was shipped quickly. Had no problem hooking router up - instructions were clear and understandable. Router works good.
Only negative: I wish the firewall password characteristics were stronger. I used to have to reset the Comcast modem alone quite regularly.
I am an IT security geek. About to buy a second for my neighbor's Christmas gift.
I have only had to re-boot the modem and router a couple of times in the last year (and its easy: power off the modem, then the router; wait a minute; power up modem and let initialize, then power up the router). I spent a day hardening (improving) the settings on her new Dell.
My reaction to the set up instructions were, "That's all.". One positive surprise when you open the box: the router is only about the size of two packs of cigarettes.
Advise: use the firewall and password protect it.
I have not tried any of the firewall and advance configurations, but for simple wired connections for several computers, it works great. The basic 1, 2, 3 setup is very easy to do. At first, my connection failed and the CD prompted me to start over, which I did ,but I also restarted the computer and everything setup fine after the restart.The price was right but I have not tried tech support yet. You can always use your security program (Norton, McAfee, BIT Defender etc). for firewall protection.
Great router did all I wanted and more. Works well with minimal set up. I would reccommend this router to anyone.
Love it. Replaced a Linksys router that was sporadically dropping connection to my cable modem, and the setup was quick and completely painless. Could not be happier with the results either: unlike Linksys I have not had to manually setup port forwarding to get things like file sharing to work.
